Soon-Moon Jung is a special mission professor for industrial collaboration in the graduate school of semiconductor materials and devices engineering at the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).

He is interested in collaborations with the semiconductor industries for developing new semiconductor materials, novel semiconductor device structures and process technologies, which are for manufacturing 3 dimensional memory products and System logic products.

He got his undergraduate and master degrees in Material Science and Engineering (1984/1986) at Hanyang University and PhD in Material Science and Engineering (1996) at University of Florida.

Before joining UNIST in 2022, he was a Executive Vice President and a project director of next generation logic technologies, such as 7n, 5n, 4n, and 3n node, and had developed and manufactured most of all advanced process and device technologies, such as GAA, FinFET, HiK/Metal Gate, FDSOI, Gate last, eSiGe, eSD, Cu BEOL, Low K, Multi patterning and EUV lithography at Semiconductor R&D Center of Samsung Electronics. He had more than 32 years of device / process integration experience in advanced CMOS technology development for logic and memory products at Samsung Electroincs.
